Running on a PS4 (screenshot from the console itself)

Cyrene is a launcher that runs Minecraft: Java Edition on a jailbroken PS4. It ships with its own Java runtime, Mesa graphics stack, and a GLFW facade, so you don't need a PC, JDK, or anything else — just the .pkg.

It started as a port of the Cyrene Launcher project. I've rebranded it, enabled offline accounts without requiring a Microsoft login, and added a small launch splash so the transition into the game isn't a black screen.

What you need

Install

  1. Grab the .pkg below
  2. FTP it to /data/pkg/ on your PS4
  3. Open GoldHEN → Package Installer → install it
  4. Launch from the home screen

Offline play

You don't need a Microsoft account to play. Open Accounts, pick Add offline account, enter a name (letters, numbers, underscores, up to 16 chars), and that's it. Works for singleplayer and any server running with online-mode=false.

Controller

The launcher UI responds to the DualShock 4 out of the box. Inside Minecraft, controller support needs Controlify on a Fabric instance — Cyrene ships the SDL3 bridge it relies on.
